Our First Topic:Wolves!!!

Hello AJ Learning Students!, Our first topic is wolves bcause I LOVE WOLVES.
Before we start I need to say I got this info and these pictures from:
http://www.all-about-wolves.com/default.aspx

Wolves
Scientific Name: Canis Lupus
Heads.
Look at those ears!! Wolves have big rounded ears that are filled with fur.
Unlike domestic dogs who have floppy ear with barely any fur in them.
Wolves have excelent hearing! Wolves can hear from 6-10 miles away!
Can you believe that?

Ooh he's watching you! When wolf pups are born their eyes are closed, then at about ten days old they open and are Ocean Blue. When they reach around 6 weeks old they turn green(weird huh?)and finally when they are grown ups they have pale yellow, amber,or even orange brown.

Ooh pretty face!! Wolf faces are very broad or wide. That fur is kinda like a side-burn! Their noses as you might know are very long and called a snout.
Their eyes are basicly the perfect distance apart!

That's all for Wolf Heads.

Bodies.

Pretty wolfie!!!!
They might be called "Grey Wolves" but as you can see they aren't always grey.
Their colors are usualy:
Black,Grey,White,and Brown.
Wolves have TWO layers of fur each called a coat.
The first layer is basicly the protection coat it can handle snow, water, and dirt.
The inner layer is soft and dense to keep the wolf warm.

And that's it for Bodies.

Paws.

That's huge!! A fully grown wolves' paw is about the size of a fully grown human males. Wolves kind of have webbed feet,so they can walk on snow and not fall in.
This might sound weird but their front paws are bigger than their back paws!!
They have a fiith claw, called the dewclaw.
 That's it for Paws.

Thank you for learning about wolves with me!
Now some awesome wolf pictures!!
